Alice Tamang - Managing Director
Alice is a Dharug woman based on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne, with extensive experience working with First Nations communities across regional and remote locations within Australia. Throughout Alice’s career, her work has focused on equitable inclusion and community development across different sectors including international development, education, and the arts.
Alice’s successes managing Indigenous engagement in the international development sector focus on facilitating connections between cultures, to empower individuals to exchange knowledge, and enhance cultural understanding.
In addition to her work in Australia, Alice was based in Nepal for a number of years, where she undertook a gender focused documentation project, and provided assistance in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake.
Alice’s international experience and cross-cultural competence has allowed her to develop unique perspectives on Indigenous inclusion and community development, and she now consults internationally in an advisory capacity for a number of programs.
Alice is Chairperson of the Australian Volunteer Program’s Indigenous Advisory Panel and a founding member of the Association of First Nations Australians in Development.
